This Makaira spinning reel features forged, machine cut stainless steel main gear and 17-4 stainless steel pinion gear. This gearing is not like any other reels in this category. This reel also has forged machine cut bodies, sideplates, and rotor. There are no die casting aluminum parts on this reel. This reel is engineered to hold up in the most severe saltwater conditions, with 23 different oil retaining o-rings and gaskets. All internal mechanisms on this reel is sealed and protected from the salty elements.
