Tape drive is a peripheral device that reads and writes data stored on a magnetic tape or a punched tape.Tape Drives are of 2 kinds internal or external. For internal tape drives, you need to know the media type the unit will accept, the interface type, and the form factor it is designed for.For external tape drives, the form factor is not important. But you need to know the type of media and the interface type to establish compatibility. You should use the System Drill down or the Service Tag look up features in the Parts For Your Dell tool for both the internal and external tape drives. This will allow us to establish the tape drive / zip drive compatibility with your system. Please note that some of our replacement products are provided as kits or assemblies.
