The 45i has 3 air intake sections, 2 on the sides and 1 on the bottom. The outflow is at the top of the unit. Make sure to have clearance on the sides and bottom so that airflow is not restricted or blocked and make sure to have clearance above the unit so that it is not positioned under a counter or window ledge. The ideal placement is on an open wall of a room where the air can flow to and from the unit without restriction.
